Beautifully decorated in gold scrolls, diamonds, flowers, and beaming lines, this solidly made bone china cup and saucer by The Royal Collection proves how an intentionally different designed cup and saucer pair can pack an artistic punch in regal style.
Based on the stunningly ornate detail found in The White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, gold gilt leaf swirls and dots (which are similar to the elaborate decoration on the floor rug) grace the cup interior while small gold flowers run along both the interior and exterior edges. The cup exterior is also beautifully, but simply decorated with evenly spaced diamond-shaped and leaf detail (seen on the edges of the Drawing Room's ceiling). A high handle and shiny gold trim cap this elegant piece.
The saucer design is inspired by the Drawing Room's three large circles of radiating gold lines which dominate the ceiling. An added cypher and crown complete this incredible pair. Again, well made, and just gorgeous.
