Dramatic and intense.
From a dark amber with red hues to a light golden amber with hints of light green, no matter how you hold these gorgeous Tudor/ Italian/ 1970's fashioned vintage candle holders, you will be amazed.
A 24kt gold tone bubble pattern alternates with square and oblong drawn windows which are segmented by hand painted bold, thick and elegantly thin lines.
A ten sided 3" wide collar, rimmed in trim tapers into a rounded hollow which is joined to a stunning clear, ten-sided lantern that comes to rest atop a ten-sided 3/8" thick base with a smooth flat bottom. When raised to the light you can peer through the windows of the base for a magical illusion that resembles an ice rink.
We have researched these candle holders and have been unable to find any information as to their origin. They are one of a kind, beautifully made, and mesmerizing pieces of art glass.
Origin: Unknown; pre-owned
Dimensions: 5"H x 4 1/4-4 1/2"W Base
2 7/8"-3"W Collar (Bobeche)
1 1/8"W x 1 1/8"D Hollow
Condition: Great. One very small ding to the underside edge of one holder base, very minor shelf wear marks to the undersides. To one holder, where the candle socket joins the stem there is a hardly noticeable small depression that was not smoothed out during manufacturing.
Although there is light generalized age wear to the gold trim, it is overall intact and bright, and the circular detail is clean and in great condition. Some blown glass bubbles are noted. Very nice handmade vintage pieces.
