A truly dramatic piece from one of England's most esteemed and collected bone china pottery manufacturers.
This stunning late 20th century bone china piece by Coalport combines the elegance of bright white embossed leaf and dainty floral detail with a royal blue band heightened by gold dot and leaf artwork.
To the opposite of the ornamental double scroll handle is the star of the piece, the menacing figurehead ("mask head") of a bearded man, embossed beneath the entire spout. Amazing.
This is the very hard to find large sized jug pitcher. Please note the majority of the Caughley jugs online are the smaller sized.
Origin: England; pre-owned
Dimensions: 7 1/2"H x 6 1/2"W (spout to handle)
Condition: Great. There are no chips, cracks, stains, crazing, or wear. The detail is sharp, no wear to the gold, and the glaze is polished. This was an estate find and perhaps was a display only piece.
