Somewhere between 1862 and 1911, a buyer with fine taste graced their home with this beaded gold and royal blue demitasse set.

The craftsmanship is striking, a work of art and meticulous precision.

A heavily glazed royal blue border edged in gold dots, encloses a design of beaded gilt panels that frame cream colored centers showcasing floral and gold decoration. The blooming pink, blue, and green leaf floral centers themselves are framed in heavy gold scrolls.

With lavish scrolled handles of gilt, the gold rimmed cup interior, in white, is touched up with a dainty scallop and dot detail. Hold both translucent cup and saucer to the light and you can see you fingers from the other side. So ornate yet delicate.

This antique fine porcelain treasure was created in England by Cauldon/ Brown-Westhead Moore & Co., (1862 backstamp) for D.B. Bedell & Co., New York.

Not much information is found about D.B. Bedell & Co.. Advertisements are found until 1910. In April, 1911 it was reported the entire stock of china and crystals were later sold off to Gimbel Brothers.

❤️ THE LOVE OF VINTAGE ❤️

Teacups are like small pieces of jewelry-they tell a story, they are displayed, shown off with pride, and prized from one generation to another. Like jewelry the time comes when such beauties are not so 'minty" young.  And yet these lovely items have lasted so long for a reason.

They are still in their prime. Seasoned with time-honored character.

Our goods are unique, quality time pieces of the past which have been inspected, researched and carefully handled to be prized. We will never sell any teacups with cracks or major damages. Our condition findings, along with our photos, are detailed as thorough and honestly as we can see, as your satisfaction is our main priority.
