Advertised as the "House of Quality" Wheeling, Virginia's Central Glass Works (1895-1939) produced this stunning design, beautifully colored in lavender.
Against an optic, wavy glass the "Harding" etch (#401), is a lavish deep etch of griffins perched atop circular scrolls, appearing to howl as they extend their tongues to lap up the falling water drops. Beneath them are hanging sprays of what appears to be a waterfall of dripping florals. Just stunning American craftsmanship.
