Adams China Singapore Bird Green and Floral Ironstone Cup and Saucer Sets of Three. England 1966-1978.

Not only are these beautifully designed teacup and saucer sets lovely presentation pieces, but reliably sturdy from their Calyx Ware ironstone composition.

A mint green background adds a touch of serenity while burgundy grids, suggestive of an aviary, enclose the rim. Pastel pink and blue flowers and green leaf chinoiserie detail surround a framed view of a single multi-colored bird, in its own quiet world, and following the movements of a butterfly. 

Origin: England; pre-owned; 1966-1978

Dimensions: 2 1/2"H x 3 3/4"W opening

Condition: Great. There are no chips, cracks, stains, or wear. One small glaze spot from firing is noted on the underside of one saucer. The colors are bright and the glaze is well intact.

Teacups are like small pieces of jewelry-they tell a story, they are displayed, shown off with pride, and prized from one generation to another. Like jewelry the time comes when such beauties are not so 'minty" young.  And yet these lovely items have lasted so long for a reason. 

They are still in their prime. Seasoned with time-honored character.
