Made between 1972-2001, the Carlyle stands as Royal Doulton's most popular design. And for a stunning reason!
Decorated in dramatic teal, emboldened with an exotic floral gold-and graceful lavender blue flowers-this unusually large collection--yes, for EIGHTEEN guests!--offers year-round, high quality elegance which adapts to any table color arrangement. And the regal, plated soup bowls simply take the cake!
Carlyle is Royal Doulton at its finest, a hands-down gorgeous heirloom collection of English bone china.
NOTE: The colors of this set are teal, blue/lavender, set against a white background. The teal color is unique and hard to capture; some photos appear with a cream/ ivory background. It is white.

Condition: Great/Excellent. This set appears to have been used 1-2 times and has all signs of having been well maintained/ stored.
Each piece has been examined carefully under very direct light (not natural lighting), and each offering is as follows:
Some items have not been used and still have their labels: Six each of the dinner, salad, bread and butter plates. Very light to very minimal light marks seen, under direct light, either from use or stacking to the plates.
Both platters and the server do not appear to have been used, but have very little, very light storage marks. We noticed a flat surface scrape to the server underside near the center hole mark (last photo). The oval vegetable bowl has very, very light signs of use. There are no issues to the cups. Of the 36 saucers extreme light use marks (1-2) are seen to eight saucers; one saucer has a 1/8" paint mark (see photo).
Other than a very light, smudged paint dab to one bowl (beneath the glaze) there are no issues seen to the soup bowls. There are no issues to the fruit bowls, the gravy boat and underplate, and the lidded oval vegetable bowl.
There are no chips, cracks, stains, crazing or wear. Each piece is clean. the gold is intact, the detail and color are sharp, and the polish is smooth with no wear. A beautifully exceptional collection.
