This lightweight water pitcher speaks vintage, vintage, vintage. And it is a lovable, perfect go-to piece.

At 7 1/4"high and 3 1/2" deep, this mid-century pink-colored 24-oz. pitcher by Lenox is easy to handle, easy to place anywhere you like, easy to store, and an easy way to get a compliment!

The design is an impressive combination of designs-the body is outwardly dimpled like a golf ball, yet the handle is gradually beaded. To the inside of the body, translucent when held to the light, is a lightly textured/dotted feel. There is a feathered detail to the handle and pitcher spout sides. The handle itself has scrolls which match those on the flat, well-balanced, footed base. And one of the scrolls, placed strangely to the handle inside, actually helps the hand's third finger rest against it for a secure hold!

We don't know why, but some of the dimples to the center of both sides have a starshaped stamp (can be seen in third photo), perhaps intentional or the imprint of the instrument used to make the dimples. It adds character.

The best designs of this piece, however, are the pitcher opening, cleverly folded inward to avoid any spillage, and the spout area which presents an embossed woman's face, the curls of her hair creating a nice ceramic flow from the spout underside, pass the nose to the chin, and down smooth side. Smart and very well made in the U.S.A..

Stamped to the base underside with a green Lenox, USA mark.
