To many it appears to be a small sized yellow glass pitcher with a zippered pattern. In a dark room with ultra-violet light, however, something magical happens to this Plain Jane!

Known as uranium, canary, or vaseline glass, this type of glass, made by mixing the glass with small amounts of uranium oxide, was popular between the late 1800's through the 1920's before production dwindled in the 1940's due to the Second World War.

Made in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by The Richards and Hartley Glass Company, this quart sized pitcher from their Cobb pattern, is detailed with a vertical zipper-like and clear panel design. Yes, it is a simple piece, but with a interesting surprise.

Origin: USA; 1877-1891; pre-owned

Dimensions: 7 3/8"H (to the spout) x 7 1/"W (spout to handle)

Condition: Great. There are no chips cracks, or stains. Very light use marks seen to the spout under direct bright light.

Some shear marks/straw marks, mould lines, bubbles, one inclusions to the handle area, two tool marks to the spout ends are seen. These are from the EAPG manufacturing process of the time and we do not consider these flaws, and they do not affect the integrity of the pitcher.
