What an incredible piece.
Raised cherries, loop-d-loop ropes, an ornate mosaic design, and a dramatic exterior orange tree and leaf detail. Add Fenton's carnival glass mastery and you are witness to a timeless work of art by one of the greatest quality glass manufacturers in America.
A scalloped rim and ruffled shiny edges reflect rainbows of metallic greens that blend into purple and yellow. Next, a heavily embossed pattern bombards the sides to your eyes delight. A small shiny band of amethyst and green sinks the bowl toward a center medallion of cherries bordered by a circle of trees.
That's the interior. The exterior is a textured pattern of six 3 1/2" wide orange trees. Just extraordinary.
Origin: USA; c.1970-1983
Dimensions: 10"W x 3"H
Condition: Very Good/Great. There are two very small dings to the underside rim edge.(The last photo is a close up and make the dings look larger). Because of the metallic rim they are unseen to the eye and can only be felt. Otherwise there are no issues to this amazing piece.
This bowl has been carefully cleaned and hand wiped six times. With every examination no wear was evident, again due to the dark color, highly ornate pattern, and the overall iridescence. The varied colors and shine are radiant, polished, and reflective.
The base is clean, smooth as expected from a Fenton piece, and stamped with the Fenton 1970's oval mark.
