Just breathtaking!

With its jaw-dropping detailed craftsmanship, this large water jug is the perfect reason why Cambridge glass is both sought out and revered by collectors.

Used between 1931 and 1953 the lacy, highly embellished Portia pattern was used on their unique tableware ball jugs until 1949.

Angled with a wide solid glass handle and an ice lip, off centered for easy pouring, this patented ball jug conveniently rests on a raised base. So unique and jolly.

But dramatically elegant. Gold encrusted flowers and vine euphorically flow from a three pointed golden vase into flowing scrolls that burst into a larger flower and leaf design. A stunning vintage piece.

Origin: USA, pattern #3400/38; pre-owned; 1940-1949

Dimensions: 9"H x 9"W (estimate); 80 oz.

Condition: Very Good. There is light gold trim wear to the rim of the ice lip Some age scuffing to the underside and a 3mm surface scratch near the base is noted. Just over 70 years old, the gold encrusted etching has little wear to some of the detail but is largely and amazingly intact, bright, and very impressive.

There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.
