Tuscan Royal Blue/ Cream/ Floral/Gold Fine English Bone China Teacup and Saucer Set. c.1947-1966

This eye-catching set by Tuscan China (RH & SL Plant, 1898-1966) contrasts a regal pomp of royal blue with cream-colored spears and decorative detail, scrolled in gold,  while serene florals temper with grace. Elegant and dramatic.

Dimensions: Cup- 2 3/8"H x3 3/4" opening

                     Saucer- 5 1/2"W

Condition: Very Good. Light scrapes within the blue rim area of the cup. Two light, unobtrusive blue paint smudges seen to the handle scroll underside and the backside rim (by the handle).

Age-related gold wear to cup/saucer gold edge trim; light gold loss to the saucer triangle and handle rear (speck); scrapes to the gold seen to the cups foot. Despite what is noted, the gold is overall shiny and pleasing.

There are no chips, cracks, stains, or crazing. The colors, including the floral and cream areas, are bright with no wear (other than listed above). A very pretty pair.

Teacups are like small pieces of jewelry-they tell a story, they are displayed, shown off with pride, and prized from one generation to another. Like jewelry the time comes when such beauties are not so 'minty" young.  And yet these lovely items have lasted so long for a reason. 

They are still in their prime. Seasoned with time-honored character.
