The vibrant colors of a Renoir masterpiece framed by an eye catching green border and polished gold trim.
And what about that red hat!
Les Deux Sœurs (Sur la terrasse), Two Sisters On the Terrace, was painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1881. Idyllic and serene we watch as the composed older girl, holding a basket of yarn, glances away with a faint sweet smile while the bright-eyed younger one stares at the viewer with full curiosity.
Very impressive is the application of the artwork to the porcelain. It is glossed, not matted, and with some textured areas that resemble brush strokes. A nice touch are the lovely greens behind the terrace which spread out and blend with the plate's green border. Such a beautiful presentation.
Sophisticated and charming, this 2001 art to porcelain plate by Goebel's Artis Orbis line will exude a colorful elegance wherever placed and certainly draw many compliments.
