From 1934 into the 1960's, the Franciscan name, manufactured in California by Gladding McBean and Co., was a well known favorite in many American homes.
Way ahead of its time in contemporary tableware design, the Concord pattern, a wide rimmed earthy green border with a band of leaf and gold gilt grape detail is supported by a sleek, highly polished ivory colored fine porcelain china base. Hold a dinner plate and you will sense the gracefully light, yet sturdy weight of this fine collection.
To add, one of our favorite pieces is the fruit bowl (8), uniquely wide rimmed and perfect to use as a mini soup bowl.
This vintage collection comes with two large serving platters.
Chosen by former US Presidents for their great quality, Franciscan China proves itself, as with the Concord design, to be an enduring testament to American craftsmanship.

Some imbalance to where the sugar bowl lid rests on the top is noted, in addition to a pinhead sized nick to the inside of the lid.
There are no chips, cracks, stains, crazing or repairs to this magnificent collection.
