The wide, stunning gold encrusted borders, in floral and scroll detail, just radiate.
Known for the sturdy hotel ware quality given to their pieces, Bauscher Weiden and Heinrich and Co., one of Germany's most important porcelain manufacturers (now owned by Villeroy and Boch), created these two elegant and exquisite dinnerware patterns.
Two Heinrich and Co. plates dramatically detail large Acanthus-like scrolls bordered by thin laurel leaf bands, while the three Bauscher Weiden plates, of a tad lighter yellow gold, display two bands of halved daisies beneath dotted arches, pressing against a center band of pansies, daisies, and leaves.
A uniquely gorgeous and very refined addition to any dinner table.
Origin: Germany; pre-owned
Dimensions/ Quantities:
3 Bauscher Weiden Porcelain Dinner Plates-10 5/8"W
2 Heinrich and Co. Porcelain Dinner Plates- 10 3/4"W
Condition: Very Good/Great. A scratch to the white area of one Heinrich and Co. plate is noted. All the other plates have very few to no use marks in the center white.
Light vintage wear/rubbing(see last photo) to the rim of two plates with no color loss. Age wear to the underside gold outlining the Bauscher Weiden plate rims is noted. The gold bands themselves are clean, bright, nicely textured, and the detail, other than noted, is beautiful and impressive.
