The Imperial bone china mark was issued by Aynsley for pieces that did not meet their first quality requirements. All the pieces in this collection, however, transcend any flaws because the pattern is magnificent. The richly colorful fruit, three uniquely different patterns, plus the shiny 22KT gold detail around the rims make this design one of Aynsley most regal.
Origin: England; pre-owned
Dimensions: Cups (2) 2 1/4"H x 4"W opening
Saucers (2) 5 3/4"W
Dessert Plate (2) 7 3/8"W
Condition: Good/ Very Good. As these pieces are seconds, although sound and functional, they did not meet the first quality standards for Aynsley, thus the lined Aynsley name on the saucer undersides; there are expected visible flaws (one pinhead size glaze bump to each saucer; some uneven gold trim, rough area edges to the plates, one light patch of discoloration to a cup interior ), plus minor gold use wear to the cup handles.
Overall this design, even with its production and use flaws is a stunning design with fine Aynsley character. The fruit/ floral detail is colorful and sharp while the gold pattern has maintained its bright, mirror like appearance.
