Aynsley Orchard Gold Hand Painted Fruit Red English Bone China Teacup and Saucer Set. c.1960-1969.

Hand painted by Aynsley artist Doris Jones (active 1938-1969), and notable for her fruit and berries artwork, this polished beauty of peaches, plums, grapes, and green leaf is even more striking for its dramatic red exterior, with both cup and saucers designed with an elegantly ridged/scalloped gold-trimmed edge.

Dimensions: Cup- 2 1/4"H x 3 5/8"W opening

                    Saucer: 5 1/2"W

Condition: Great. Use marks are seen to the saucer well. While the gold is bright and overall intact there is light spotted age wear to the saucer verge (see photo).

There are no chips, cracks, stains, or crazing. The artwork is intact with no wear. Two faint, age-related marks are seen to the saucer red area under direct light (we could not see it under natural lighting). Otherwise, this pair is clean, polished, and in overall beautiful condition. The gold trim (despite what is noted) is bright and intact with no wear.

Our teacup sets are vintage pieces and are not "new". They are no longer made (unless listed as new), reminders of a time gone by. 

Teacups are like small pieces of jewelry-they tell a story, they are displayed, shown off with pride, and prized from one generation to another. Like jewelry the time comes when such beauties are not so "minty" young.  And yet these lovely items have lasted so long for a reason. 

They are still in their prime. Seasoned with time-honored character.
