Bawo and Dotter Elite Works Limoges 80-Piece Blue and Floral Dinnerware Collection. 1920-1932, France

Known for their "Elite" tubular chime hall and mantel clocks, Bawo and Dotter, "Manufacturers, Importers/ Commission Merchants", operated a large import store on Barclay Street in New York City, since the 1860's. They closed in 1932. 

Looking back to the 1870's Bawo and Dotter established The Elite Works in Limoges, France, importing quality decorated porcelain goods (from other factories) up until 1896, when they produced their own porcelain. In later years they would go on to purchase the esteemed William Guerin/ Pouyat works.

This gorgeous 80-piece dinnerware collection, easily suitable for 8-10 guests, brings the graceful elegance of olden days to your table. Delicate pink rose bouquets and mustard-colored scrolls are set against a border of French/sky blue, a combination of colors that are both calming and romantic, a vivid design set against white, high-quality French Limoges porcelain. We cannot state just how stunning the soup bowls are!  It is a very unique, timeless and well-made beauty.

Condition: Great. Use marks are noted under direct light. Some areas of age-related light wear--no abuse-- are seen to the border band detail, none detracting from the overall beauty of this set.

Some application overlapping of the border band is noted, especially to the soup bowls. Again, this does not detract from the pattern's appeal or presentation.

There are no chips, cracks, stains or crazing. Each piece is clean, and the colors are vivid. For its age this collection appears to have been beautifully maintained.
