Two iconic Norman Rockwell art covers, "Before The Shot" (March 15, 1958) and "Marriage License" (June 11, 1955) are captured in a realistic 3-D resin display, made exclusively for the JC Penney Department Store Chain.
You are literally, as if in a theater, looking into these two worlds: first, the private moment before a doctor "stings" a young boy who is, for the moment, interested in staring at himself in the mirror, or second, sharing a joyful moment as a young couple eagerly, and lovingly, applies for a marriage license, all while the bored clerk appears to have "been there, done that". Definitely amusing and admirable conversation pieces.
Both bookends are hefty, well-polished with a cherry wood stain.

Origin: China; pre-owned
Dimensions: 6 3/4"H x 6 5/8"W x 6 1/4"D
Condition: Great. Shelf and bookend edge scuff marks are seen (see photos) which can be easily remedied with a cherry wood repair marker. Each bookend underside is missing one stick-on rubber pad.
Note: A gap is seen between the "Before The Shot" mirror panel and the wooden bookend. This is original from manufacturing, and are well held in with no risks of separation.
The bookend portraying "Before The Shot" displays a chip on the doctor's desk. This is painted the same color as the desk top and appears to be an intentional attempt to emphasize the desk's age.
