Its quiet white glazed underside commands the eye toward the interior where an intense, brilliantly polished, dramatic cobalt blue glaze is eclipsed by shining 22kt gold, heavily gilt along a scalloped, scroll-embossed rim.
And what about the serene etch-like, detailed gold roses with smaller buds and flowers fluttering around the edges. Such a graceful and striking c.1970's piece by Lindner.
Origin: West Germany; pre-owned
Dimensions: 13"L x 8"W x 2"H
Condition: Great. Some age related tarnish to the gold (see photo) and light areas where the blue paint is seen through the gold rim near the edge where it meets the blue center.
To the white backside, in the handle area there is a light surface scuff mark (see photo).
There are no chips, cracks, stains, or crazing. There gold (aside from what is noted) is bright, the design detail is intact, with very little light age-related wear to the large rose in the center. The blue glaze is intact and beautifully polished.
