Minus a lid, we imagined this antique chocolate pot as one most beautiful pitcher or vase.
Hand painted pink roses against a bright white Limoges form sweep upward, toward a gilt handle which swoops downward to a flared bottom of raised gold ribbon twists and emerald green color. The unsung hero, however, is the embossed gold and leaf band, hidden near the handle. Romantic and dreamy.
Origin: France; c. 1937-1941; pre-owned
Dimensions: 10 1/4"H x 5 1/4"W (base)
Condition: Great. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or stains. Very light specks of gold loss to textured points on the handle and top scalloped rim is noted. One speck of darker red paint is seen on one of the roses at the bottom.
There is no lid, but this is such a beautiful piece with sharp detail, vivid colors, and bright gold.
