On June 26, 1959, in Quebec, Canada, Queen Elizabeth II and President Dwight D. Eisenhower formally opened The St. Lawrence Seaway, also known as "Highway H2O", a Canadian-US marine seaway system of locks and canals for vessels traveling from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes.

This Paragon 1959 scalloped and gold trimmed, aquamarine teacup and saucer pair commemorates the moment with a glorious tan lion, unicorn, and red accented crown. The "EP" initials for Elizabeth and Philip are set in the white center interior of the cup, along with a pink rose and a blue banner for "Canada", spread along the base and dated "1959".

Reflective gold maple leaf and four leaf clover pattern to the upper aquamarine interior adds a brilliant elegance which is matched to the saucer as well. Of maple leaf garlands and two pink roses, the saucer is bordered by the words, "The Opening Of The St. Lawrence Seaway" and "1959".

Classy and stately the British way.

❤️ THE LOVE OF VINTAGE ❤️

Teacups are like small pieces of jewelry-they tell a story, they are displayed, shown off with pride, and prized from one generation to another. Like jewelry the time comes when such beauties are not so 'minty" young.  And yet these lovely items have lasted so long for a reason.

They are still in their prime. Seasoned with time-honored character.

Our goods are unique, quality time pieces of the past which have been inspected, researched and carefully handled to be prized. We will never sell any teacups with cracks or major damages. Our condition findings, along with our photos, are detailed as thorough and honestly as we can see, as your satisfaction is our main priority.
