Royal Worcester England Blush Ivory 12" Hydria-Styled Jug/ Vase, c.1867

Simple ivory and gold, but it defines stunning!

Styled in the manner of a wide-bodied Greek water vessel (hydria), with horizontal handles, pedestal base and rounded lip, this 155 year-old Blush Ivory Parian clay piece by Royal Worcester details raised, outlined gold daisies and leaf.

The striking part to this gorgeous jug are the gold encrusted tightly stitched leaves, with a feel of lame fabric.

Then there are the dotted pistils, perfectly applied in roped, circular fashion, but raised higher in the center. Beautiful to feel. Incredible work! 

This piece is marked in puce (purple) with the letter "a" below the stamp, dated to 1867, the word "patent" and the registration number "143394" and style number "1430"

Dimensions: 12 1/4"H x 6 3/4"W (est.)

Condition: Great. There is some gold loss to the top of the jug lip and two very tiny specs of gold loss to one handle.  Some specs of gold paint are seen to the interior base. Very, very light rubbing to the base band with no gold loss.

There are no chips, cracks, stains, crazing, or repairs. The gold, other than what is noted, is intact and shiny.
